Shaker Graphic Prints

Set of four prints from the Shaker Community (The United Society) in Sabbathday Lake Maine. These were made by their own Shaker Graphic Society in 1973 and sold as a subscription, where they would send you one every couple of months, for a total of these four prints. The prints are of the Shaker Meeting House built in 1794; Shaker crafts; Shaker Herbs (this is an uncut sheet of labels); and Shaker Broom Corn, in a Rayogragh-like print made and signed by Sister R. Mildred Barker, chief Shaker song archivist (deceased). Framed under glass.

prints: 11 1/2" x 32", frames: 15 1/2" x 37"

Vintage Rahsaan Roland Kirk Poster

A rare card stock promo poster for Atlantic Records, early 1970's. aside from the image and great type treatment, the cool thing about this is that someone cut the corners off and mounted it (taped it) to the center of a white paper, then painted the Nielsen frame white. Such a great way to show it. 30" x 24"

Condition: Some wrinkles in the cardboard, but it shows very nicely.

Plaster Head of a Man, Painted Sold

Hand made plaster head, painted with acrylic and mounted on a wood and formica base, likely from sometime in the 60's. Really well made with gestural chunks, by someone who knew what they were doing. It's refreshing to see a sculpture like this painted, realistically. At first it reminded me of Rodin, but then because of its paint, I was brought back to our old days of painting Dungeons &Dragons miniatures, and it looked somewhat fantastical and Tolkien-esque. It's fun, different, and unexpected. Even he himself looks somewhat surprised.

Unsigned.

Condition: Great- no chips or cracks.

Vintage 1960's Grocery Store Window Poster

A giant one, in blazing day-glo with 7 different typefaces grahically advertising Thermo-Temp by Thermo Ware, which I think was a kind of double-walled plastic cup. Silkscreened on heavy stock paper. This has been stored folded for almost 50 years. This would look amazing framed under glass.
